The Old Cow Byre and the Old Bothy have been converted from 17th century farm buildings. Each is finished to an extremely high standard with its own, very unique, charm and character. They enjoy beautiful views, scenic surroundings and a lovely sense of peace and tranquillity.

Situated at the foot of Glensila, near the spectacular Reekie Linn Waterfall, this is the perfect destination to enjoy the lovely scenery and unspoilt countryside. The area offers superb walking and cycling for all levels, as well as golf, trout/salmon fishing, clay pigeon shooting and skiing in season. The towns of Alyth,7 miles, and Kirriemuir, 8 miles, offer excellent amenities and the vibrant city of Dundee is 28 miles.

The Old Bothy

This most attractive steading conversion offers the following accommodation.

Two bedrooms: 1 king-size and 1 zip-and-link which can be twin or super-king by request.

Bathroom: bath with shower, bath and WC.

Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan, stunning and light with bi-fold door, flatscreen TV, Freeview and DVD. Kitchen area is well-equipped with gas ‘range’ hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer and microwave.

Utility room: with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Amenities: ample off-road parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, underfloor heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. 2 well-behaved dogs welcome, care must be taken as the garden area is open and there are animals.

The Old Cow Byre

This most attractive steading conversion offers the following accommodation.

Four bedrooms: on the first floor, 1 room with triple beds which can be super king-size and single by request and 1 single. On the ground floor 1 king-size with en-suite shower, and 1 further king-size.

Bathroom: bath with shower over and WC. Separate WC and reading gallery on the first floor.

Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan, stunning area with bi-fold doors and beamed ceiling, flatscreen TV, Freeview and DVD. Kitchen area is well-equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher.

Utility room: with washer/dryer.

Outside: courtyard area with private hot tub

Additional Info

  • A take-away menu is available from the coffee shop for those days when cooking is too much of an effort!
  • Shop on site, pub/hotel 6 miles. Arrival 4.00pm.
  • Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Guests are welcome to explore The Courtyard where they will discover a wide range of delights and offers a unique shopping experience. Our farm shop which stocks a wide range of local produce is also popular with both guests and locals. Throughout the year there are craft demonstrations and workshops (booking is advisable.) The coffee shop offers freshly prepared lunches and home baking in cosy and relaxed surroundings.

For the children there is a Farm Trail and play area complete with resident chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs or walk across the road to feed the ducks!
